Home Tech strives to be the technological leader in the home building industry. In 1995 Home Tech built the "Green 2000" energy efficient model home sponsored by the EPA and Northern States Power. In 1998 Home Tech built the first "Health House" in South Dakota, sponsored by the American Lung Association. We just compleeted the first two "GREEN" certified homes in South Dakota. Home Tech homes stress energy efficient savings and indoor air quality through the availability of features such as geothermal heating and cooling, radon suppression systems, and air to air heat exchangers. Home Tech Inc's president, Kurt Hanson, is the first " Graduate Master Builder" in the state of South Dakota. He has also received his Certified Aging In Place "CAPS" designation from the National Association of Home Builders and Is a Certified Green Professional "CGP". This training enables Kurt to design and remodel homes for people concerned with special mobility and accessibility needs and build homes that are energy efficient and resource friendly. He was the 1999 President of the Home Builders Association of the Sioux Empire, and was selected 2000 "Builder Member of the Year" for Sioux Falls and 2003 "Board Member of the Year" for South Dakota. He has a mechanical engineering degree from West Point, and 27 years of project management and computer aided design experience. Kurt's experience and training make him uniquely qualified to serve Sioux Falls area residents for their building and remodeling needs

Home Tech just completed the first two "Certified Green"  homes in South Dakota.  These homes have been certified to meet the new Green Building Standards established by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)  and verified by the National Association of Home Builders.  These standards were established to insure that homes are energy efficient, conserve water, have healthy indoor air quality, and are environmentally friendly during construction and opperation.
